African swine fever was detected among wild boars of Volhynia.
On July 24 of the current year, 5 corpses of wild pigs (3 adults, 2 small) were found on the territory of Pavlovsk Hunting Farm LLC in the Ivanichevsky District of the Volyn Region.
This was reported by the State Food and Beverage Service in Volyn. Specialists of the State Food and Beverage Service of the region made a commission visit to the place of detection of pig bodies in order to select pathological material.
Samples were subsequently sent for analysis to the Lviv Regional State Veterinary Medicine Laboratory. According to the results of the study, the samples revealed the DNA of the African swine fever virus in three corpses of adult animals.
On July 26 of this year, extraordinary meetings of the State emergency antiepizootic commission were held at the regional state administration and at the Ivanichevsk regional state administration.
They considered the question "On measures to localize and eliminate the outbreak of African plague among wild pigs in Pavlovsk Hunting Farm LLC of the Ivanichevsky District and strengthen measures to prevent the spread of the disease in the region." Related activities are ongoing.
