In 14 regions of Ukraine in January-June of this year, 26 outbreaks of ASF were detected. This is 52 cases less when compared with the same period of 2018, which is stated on the blog on Economic Truth by the chairman of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection Volodymyr Lapa.
The official noted that the State Food and Beverage Service not only monitors the existing programs, but also responds in time to every message in the media and social networks regarding the possibility of ASF disease.
In addition, the hotline of the State Food and Beverage Service operates around the clock. It was previously reported that cases of African swine fever were reported in all areas of the country.
At the same time, the smallest number of cases in Ukraine was registered in the Zhytomyr region. It is one of the areas with the smallest outbreaks of African swine fever - only 7 cases per five-year period.
This was announced on June 18 this year by the head of the Main Directorate of the State Food and Beverage Service in the Zhytomyr Region, Alexander Shpita, at a meeting of the emergency antiepizootic commission at the Regional State Administration.
