For several years, frozen raspberries have been sold on the world market at a low price, and the cost of fresh berries has also dropped significantly.
The main reason for this situation, international experts consider Ukraine’s entry into world leadership among raspberry exporters, which created competition in Europe, Poland and Serbia. Raspberry producers will look for ways out of this situation at the conference “Berries of Ukraine-2019: Freezing and Fresh Market”, which will be held on May 21, 2019 in Kiev.
In the global raspberry market, there has been a significant increase in supplies from Bosnia and Herzegovina. But not one of the major berry growers has a recipe for a productive fight against the low price of their product, EastFruit analysts said.Taking into account the latest trends in the global raspberry market, the participants of the conference “Berries of Ukraine-2019: Freezing and Fresh Market” will start negotiations at the round table “Ways to increase world prices for raspberries” with the participation of associations of berry growers and experts from Ukraine, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia, and also Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The round table will be led by Andrei Yarmak, economist at the investment department of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).The conference will open on May 21, 2019 in Kiev, where it will bring together leading producers and processors of raspberries and other berries from more than 10 countries. Numerous delegations from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Georgia, Moldova and the countries of the European Union intend to attend the conference.
