On the farm, which is located in the village of Veliky Gulyaki, Fastovsky district, Kiev region, in addition to ordinary organic vegetables, okra, chard salad and kale are grown.
The project was founded by Anton Dundiy 9 years ago. It all started with a small greenhouse where a farmer grew organic vegetables for his relatives and friends. The young agrarian began with greens - dill, parsley and 5-7 types of salads. Later he mastered the cultivation of cucumbers, tomatoes, cabbage, eggplant, pepper, zucchini.
Currently, in winter at least 15 types of cultivated plants are grown in greenhouses. And usually on the beds of the cooperative grows to 25 species. The total land area of the farm is 21 hectares, but at the moment only 20% is involved in the processing, which Anton Dundiy himself explains by the complexity of growing organic products. In ordinary farming, farmers use chemicals, but this is not suitable for growing organic vegetables. The cooperative doesn’t use plant protection agents and “chemistry,” says Anton Dundiy. Chemicals are replaced by biological ones, including poisons, such as a decoction of wormwood, hemlock. They act on pests, but do not negatively affect people, says agronomist Alexander Rybalko.
All waste from the production of organic products is processed into fertilizer and used in growing. In addition, the farm accepts food waste from the population. “Now we are working as a cooperative. Everyone can invest in it or come to work, or join this movement and create it with us, ”says Anton Dundiy.
Another interesting direction in the farm's activity is the cultivation of micro-greens, that is, the germination of seeds. Microgreen is grown on burlap, which then goes to mulch. The cooperative is seriously thinking about exporting. Guests from Europe who tasted local products gave her a very high rating and assured that in European countries such products are very in demand. The main factor in the success of his business, Anton Dundiy, considers his native land. He is a patriot and does not imagine how he could be engaged in growing plants in another country.
