Guided by Egypt's strategic development plan Egypt Vision 2030, the US Department of Agriculture (USAID), together with Cairo University and four other American universities, launched a five-year joint project worth $ 30 million.
The Center of Excellence for Agriculture (COEA) will work in conjunction with two additional newly created centers of excellence focused on water and energy.
COEA will work with Egyptian universities to create a higher education program that will provide the Egyptian Faculty of Agriculture and its students with tools to directly impact Egyptian agriculture as scientists, collaborators, politicians, or innovators.USAID University will lead innovation and curriculum development programs, University of California will lead high-quality programs, applied research, and the University of Michigan will lead human capital development efforts.
Sathguru management consultants will work with Egyptian universities to facilitate technology transfer and commercialization of university research products.
