Three hectares of land covered with special planks, and nearby - two industrial-sized small greenhouses. It is not cucumbers with tomatoes that are grown here, but snails - African and Mediterranean.

“This is our first year. We study, because my partner and I were engaged in a completely different field - we came from IT, looked for new interesting areas for business and stopped growing snails and decided that we would do it in Privolnoye, ”said Roman Denkovich, co-owner of the snail farm.

Unusual entrepreneurs in the community were not surprised. They say that farmers knew before when they worked in the villages of general relativity in the computer sphere. Therefore, when young entrepreneurs came up with an idea, they supported it. After all, business is extra money, and the territory of an abandoned collective farm was put in order. Therefore, local residents helped as they could.

On a farm, a snail goes through the entire life cycle - from the birth of eggs to an adult. Mollusks grow first in greenhouses, and only then they are taken out to the fields. The work here is based on foreign experience, because it is in Europe that snails have the greatest demand.

Snails feed on a special plant. It is called perko and is a hybrid of rape and cabbage. It was specially bred for growing snails. In addition to fresh plant foods, wards farms receive feed.

Snails are grown here all year. In the future, they plan to develop green tourism, conduct excursions, tastings. And also entrepreneurs are going to make ready-made products, for which there is a demand in Ukraine, but are still more oriented towards export.
