As the chairman of the Ukrainian Association of Agricultural Export (UAAE) Dmitry Kroshka predicts, in the near future there will be a decrease in prices for apples, due to the start of picking late-ripening fruits and an increase in supply from small producers.
2019 was difficult for everyone who grows berries and fruits. And high humidity has caused a loss of commercial quality products.
Bad weather damaged early fruit producers. There was little summer apple on the market for the same reason, which caused an increase in prices and demand, Dmitry Kroshka said in a statement. According to him, in the coming week, apple prices in Ukraine will be reduced.
Currently, not all Ukrainian manufacturers are striving to quickly sell their products. They know that the country's market is facing a shortage of high quality apples and maximally delay sales.
According to Kroshka, the priority task of domestic manufacturers now is to maintain their export positions and maintain the authority of a stable partner for foreign companies.
The expert notes that Ukrainian manufacturers should stay in those markets that they have already managed to enter and look for new distribution channels. Exporters need at all costs to maintain their reputation in the global market.
Already, a Ukrainian apple is valued higher than a Polish one. And to achieve this, Ukrainian exporters needed only 1 year. At present, domestic apples are traded in the price segment of developed countries such as Italy and France, while Polish fruits remain at their former positions.
