The other day, one of the representatives of the German farming movement, 44-year-old Karl Pechler, having left for his lands, did not immediately recognize his own corn field.
Almost the entire crop of golden ears of corn, under the influence of the high temperature of the air and the scorching sun, turned into ... popcorn.
It is known that recently in the lion's share of European countries, including Germany, record hot weather has formed. As a result, agricultural and other crops in the vast country were not the most positive impact.
So, many of Karl’s colleagues admitted that they had heard strange popping on corn fields since a week ago, but did not attach much importance to this. As a result, thirty-five hectares with corn simply turned into a large-scale enterprise for the production of popcorn.
“In my whole life I have not even seen so many popcorn at fairs, as now, in my field,” Pekhler states with sadness. The only thing a German farmer hopes today is to preserve at least some crumbs of the crop.
Meanwhile, in Germany’s potato fields, many farmers can clearly smell the fries, and in wheat fields as a result of the influence of the sun and heat, farmers often smell baking.
