AGCO Corp, an American agricultural equipment manufacturer, said on Tuesday April 23 that it will launch its flagship Fendt line in Brazil later this year, targeting large soy farmers in the vast central west region.
"AGCO will first deliver its German-made line of powerful Fendt Vario tractors to the Brazilian grain center, and next year plans to begin selling the largest Fendt seeders and combines today, which will be produced at two plants in Brazil," said the head of the South American office of Luis Felli during a presentation in Sao Paulo.
According to Felli, most of the products were developed in Brazil specifically for the needs of grain producers in the central western states, such as Mato Grosso and Goias, which produce most of the soy and corn in the country.Fendt's South America headquarters will be located in Sorriso, right on the BR-163 key grain road in northern Mato Grosso. The company will sell seeders with 40 lines for seeds and fertilizers.
According to Luis Felli, precision seeders in the field can move at a speed of 12 kilometers per hour, while conventional seeders can move at a speed of no more than 5 kilometers per hour.
