Some types of mushrooms are very beautiful, and butterdish (Suillus) is one of them. Especially beautiful look after the warm autumn rains, when they grow in a staggering amount. Butterfishes are tasty and quite healthy. In the article you will find useful information about when to collect these edible mushrooms, how long it takes to grow them and where to find them.
Growth conditions oily
It must be borne in mind that the underground part of the mycelium spreads almost constantly. It does not depend on external weather conditions or the season: summer and autumn.
But for young mushrooms to start appearing, the correct conditions are required:
- temperature during the day: not lower than + 18 ° C;
- air humidity: about 60–80%;
- soil moisture: 70%;
- soil temperature: from + 16 ° C.
Such weather should linger, lasting at least a couple of summer days. The aboveground part will grow rapidly in sunny weather after a warm rain. To understand where and why butterflies grow, you need to consider that it is a mycorrhizal fungus, i.e., it is found nearby the host tree.
Important! Do not pick mushrooms in the forest that you are not sure of. This can cause poisoning.
Mycorrhiza (symbiosis of mycelium with roots) forms an oiler with coniferous trees, in particular with ordinary pine. The fungus is embedded in its roots, nourishing with useful substances obtained from the soil in the radius of the mycelium, which is much larger than the root system of trees. In exchange, he receives chlorophyll.
Video: Observation of the growth of oil
Distinctive features of oil include:
- growth near pine trees;
- the presence of a sticky hat with easily peelable skin;
- the appearance of hard points on the stem (oily discharge, which hardens when dried), sometimes there is also a ring;
- the presence of large pores located radially.
Few people know that all these signs appear at the same time. And this makes it easy to distinguish them from other varieties of mushrooms.
Did you know? In Germany, the butterdish got the nickname "butter mushroom", and in England - "slippery Jack."
How long does it grow after rain
The first copies can be collected 12 hours after the rain. But the main thing is that these mushrooms grow in large groups and in 2-3 days you can pick up a whole basket in one meadow.
In sunny weather
If the weather is sunny, the first instance will appear in the meadow after 5 hours. But it is unlikely that you are going to bring only a couple of mushrooms from the forest, so wait for the required 3 days, and you will get a large selection of wonderful oils.
The daily growth of the nipple is 1–1.5 cm. The maximum height of the legs is 7 cm. Therefore, each person needs 4 days to grow. If it rains frequently, maintaining the required humidity, the growth rate and yield will increase significantly.
In cloudy weather
Cloudy weather does not provide the best conditions for growth. The lack of sunlight does not allow the soil to warm up well, so the oil will grow no more than 0.5-0.6 mm per day. This means that with constant rain for several days, you need to go for mushrooms no earlier than on the 4th day. And then, if the soil dries, otherwise a lot of dirt can remain on the crop during harvest.
Growth season duration oily
Fungal spores are usually present in the air. In hot weather, they rise from the hats, and in the rainy season they land on moist and warm soil and begin to sprout. The fruiting season will last from July to October.
Subsequently, the growing mycelium forms young specimens from the roots.
Butterflies are one of the tastiest and most fruitful mushrooms. They grow well under ordinary conditions, so in the season you will be able to procure them in large quantities. The main thing is to wait for the sunny weather to come after the rains.
