The real tragedy occurred in the Bohan district of the Irkutsk region. It was there, in the vastness of the village of Olonki, that more than thousands of cows were infected with the dangerous tuberculosis virus.
If we talk about the exact number of victims of the disease, then we are talking about 1360 individuals, who now have to kill and process their carcasses in accordance with the established veterinary order on the basis of the Ust-Orda meat processing plant.
It is reported that humans became a source of infection of animals. This conclusion was reached by researchers who worked with samples of biomaterial in the laboratory conditions of the Veterinary Services of Krasnoyarsk and Irkutsk.
In this regard, over the past two weeks in the stalls of the farm owned by Irkutsk Oil and Fat Plant Limited Liability Company, quarantine has been in effect.
It should be noted that since the introduction of the quarantine regime, the enterprise has ceased to produce milk. And the residents of the village of Olonki are currently undergoing a mass examination for the presence of the tuberculosis virus in the body.
Slaughter of diseased cows will be carried out before the first of July of this year. As for the quarantine conditions at the enterprise, they will be extended until next year. The work of the enterprise in normal mode will be resumed subject to the involvement of new individuals of cattle.
