Amelie, Lena and Anna set up their stand in front of the cafeteria of the University of Bayreuth, Germany. Vegetable bags for students include tomatoes, carrots, onions and lettuce. The vegetables they sell grow twelve JVA St. prisoners vegetables are regularly sold on campus.
Campus Vegetables has a total of eleven members. Two drivers deliver goods from prison to campus. They transport from 50 to 80 bags of 1.5 kg each. to university.
Almost every Wednesday afternoon you can buy various vegetables from the region. Within twenty minutes, vegetables on campus are usually completely sold out.

A bag of vegetables costs 3 euros. Anyone who wants to give four or five euros will automatically donate the rest of the money to prison.
Direct speech: “In this way, the JVA can invest in new acquisitions in all areas,” says Amelie Reicher. Of course, an additional donation is purely voluntary. Twenty prisoners are currently working in a nursery in JVA Bayreuth, twelve are engaged in growing vegetables.
Vegetables are currently grown in 5 greenhouses or on a field near the nursery. A total of 23 thousand m² are available for cultivation, as explained by Oberregierungsrätin Anya Rider-Kaiser. Collaboration with the University of Bayreuth was created by a student project.
