According to the majority of farmers in the Zhytomyr region, recent rainfall in the form of heavy rains, and in some places with hail, as well as a strong wind, have caused significant harm to the future crop of the current year.
So, the respondents said that puddles formed in the fields, which may entail the soaking of cultivated plants. The largest number of complaints about the weather this spring came from agricultural producers of the Novograd-Volyn region of the region.Affected farmers are in no hurry with a final assessment of the state of crops, claiming that it can be given no earlier than May 20, 2019.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, as of May 17 this year, agrarians of the Zhytomyr region planted corn for grain - 110.5 thousand ha (64.1% of the forecast), sunflower - 75.2 thousand ha (61.9% of the forecast) , soybeans - 39.5 thousand ha (27.9% of the forecast).
