The data of the monitoring of perennial orchards of Ukraine for the spread of pests were published by the State Food and Beverage Service.
The results of the check showed that the fruit plantations of the country are densely populated by weevils, as well as sucking insects. Specialists of the service noticed garden pests such as gray kidney weevil and apple blossoms. In the planting of fruit trees, sucking insects such as aphids, tinkers, and ticks were identified.
With a steady increase in air temperature, it is likely that the aforementioned pests will begin to damage the kidneys. In the south of Ukraine, a flight of cabbage and rapeseed belanas was recorded, as well as a way out of wintering places of the pest beetle alenka fluffy.Given the monitoring results obtained, work was carried out to protect gardens from pests. The events covered 16.5 thousand ha of fruit tree plantings. Trees on 28.1 thousand ha were subjected to health-improving procedures.
Vineyards are protected from harmful organisms on the territory of 7.4 thousand ha, from diseases - by 2.4 thousand ha, the State Food and Drug Administration said. It was previously reported that in 2019, the Ukrainian apple and pear orchards are threatened with a scab and a monilial burn of shoots and flowers.
