The village of Lugansk is on the demarcation line. Previously, local farmers carried their greenhouse vegetables to the wholesale markets of Lugansk and the east. the demarcation line separated Lugansk and the Ukrainian Lugansk region.
Prior to the outbreak of hostilities, the head of the stanchik vegetables' vegetables cooperative Maryana Nescheret, together with her husband, was engaged in the cultivation of cucumbers and tomatoes, which they brought to the wholesale market in Lugansk.
When the demarcation line passed through the region, Maryana, like tens of thousands of her compatriots, did not immediately rebuild. Lugansk is only 17 km away. And to Severodonetsk - three hours drive by military roads, on which it is almost impossible to deliver tender vegetables unscathed.
But now for two years now the family has not traveled to Lugansk with goods. Farmers say they don’t want to listen to unpleasant words on CPVV. Like-minded Maryany in the Village of Lugansk already 135 people. Such is the list of members of the co-operative “Vegetables of the stanitsniki”.
At first, a lot of people came to the cooperative, with the thought that humanitarian aid was being distributed here. But when they saw that this was not the purpose of the union, they began to leave, with a smile, says Maryana Nescheret.
Each member of the cooperative has a greenhouse where he grows tomatoes. In July this year, the cooperative began to form commercial consignments of vegetables for Kiev. Currently, a large number of orders come from there, calls are coming from large supermarket chains and wholesale bases, the entrepreneur sums up.
