In the Ternopil region in the urban-type settlement Velikaya Berezovitsa, a kilometer-long quarantine zone was announced due to an outbreak of African swine fever (ASF).
Recall that in Ukraine since the beginning of 2019, 31 cases of African swine fever have been recorded. Confirmed the information and the village head Ilya Kostyuk.
A patrol has been set up to control the quarantine zone. According to Ilya Kostyuk, African plague was found in Vietnamese pigs on the farm of one of the local residents. In connection with the death of domestic animals, the woman turned to the local veterinarian.
On July 24, the antiepizootic commission of the Ternopil regional state administration confirmed that cattle died from the African swine fever.
Earlier it was reported that a new outbreak of African swine fever was recently detected among wild boars of the forestry of the Olevsky district of the Zhytomyr region (the 70th quarter of the Belokorovitsky Leskhoz state enterprise).
Meanwhile, globally, ASF continues to slaughter pigs by the thousands. So, recently Bulgaria and Poland announced major outbreaks of the disease.
