The Kakhovka experimental mechanical plant introduced revolutionary equipment for peeling onions from peel. On April 4 of this year, representatives of farms in the Kherson region who specialize in growing onions hastened to get acquainted with him.
The line of onion peeling machines was created by the engineering staff of KEMZ JSC under the leadership of Alexander Ulanov, the plant’s chief designer, the company said on its website.
In the post-Soviet space this is the first such experience. Earlier machines of this type were not produced here. Some of the technical solutions of the line have no analogues in the world engineering of such equipment.
The main feature of the equipment of Kakhov engineers is the onion cleaning method itself. A vegetable is peeled off without an abrasive that scratches its skin and water, which significantly reduces its implementation time and is not cheap in itself. New equipment cleans onions with compressed air.
It is noteworthy that with the usual cleaning of onions with a capacity of up to 1 ton per hour, it is necessary to hire about 100 workers. With a wage of 250 UAH per shift, the monthly salary budget is 750 thousand UAH or $ 28,000. And to service the new onion cleaning line, only 7 people are needed. In this case, the monthly salary budget will be equal to 80 000 UAH ($ 3 000). This means that the equipment will pay for itself in the first 4-5 months of operation.
Presentation participants praised the new line. In addition, they expressed a desire for the equipment to be included in the state compensation program in the near future.
